Complaints about Mail Delivery in North Carolina
January 6th, 2012 by Steve RosenbergYou can’t make this stuff up…. another mail house just sent me this link from Mailing & Fulfillment Service Association (MFSA) complaining about delivery times throughout North Carolina.
There are now nine blog posts complaining about service in North Carolina.
Echoing my gripe about the attitude at the Raleigh BMEU, Glen Swyers wrote, “One issue that we have had in Raleigh they just take the mail and they process the paperwork when they get to it. We can get calls at 10 p.m. with questions about the paperwork. My favorite was the late night call informing us and calling the permit holder that based on the clarity of the signature – the mail was rejected.”
Other blog posts indicate that the authorities are aware of the situation, but why isn’t anything done?
I just had a very small (422 piece) mailing go through the system last week. Because I use Postal Wizard, I saw that the clerk took a bit over an hour to process the mail through Merlin.
I guess the clerk is trying to protect his job by pretending to stay busy.
I don’t have the answers to the Post Office’s problem, but I know that leadership starts from the top. There are some very good people at the Post Office that I deal with, and there are others who should be made aware that bulk mailers are the Post Offices’ best customers and should be treated with respect.
